My parents shocked me this week. They aren't making me go to church when I go home for Easter! They have ALWAYS made my sister go for Easter/Xmas, even though she isn't Christian, but they said that my decision is different from hers in that she just gradually left and I had a serious breaking off point and am not even nominal anymore. So, they said it would be hypocritical of them to say on the one hand that they support us no matter what we do, and on the other hand to make us go to church with them.
Sometimes they manage to really surprise me. This is so great, I was dreading going there and seeing billions of people who just know me as "that girl who used to run the christian bookstore" and having to hear tons of songs that I know but won't sing along with anymore and having to hear a sermon on how loving God is when he kills his kid/himself. But now I don't have to. Now chocolate is the only reason for the season! :)
