revamp of Who I Am In Christ by Neil Anderson
Who I Am In Me [this is healthy]
1. I am essentially good.
2. I am worth fighting for.
3. I do not deserve to be punished.
4. I do good things and merit praise.
5. I can make my own decisions.
6. It's okay if I mess up.
7. My values can change.
8. I am not bound to believe what I believed yesterday.
9. My accomplishments are mine, not "god"'s.
10. I can disagree with other people without trying to convince them.
11. Life will go on if I am wrong.
12. I can trust my instincts.
13. I can trust reason.
14. I can disagree with the Bible.
15. It is healthy to ask questions until I get an answer.
16. Truth does not require a justification.
17. God might be out there, and I can still be me.
I am gradually losing the inclination to pray. It doesn't occur to me as often or in the same way. I feel more comfortable with the thought of being alone, godless. The panic is subsiding.
