Becoming Human: 04 August 2001

I was reading part of Becoming Human by Jean Vanier, and he was saying that we are consumed by two opposite desires. One is the desire for community, in which we discover relationships and how to love and be loved. But, he says, it is as individuals that we discover a personal relationship with God, and ourselves. It is strange, he talkes about becoming human, but I am not sure what he means by 'human.' What else could be possibly be? Maybe it's about embracing our humanity.
