Holiness and the Law: 01 August 2001
In A Portrait of Jesus, Joseph Girzone mentions that it is a sad fact that many people today equate holiness with the observance of the law. I've never thought of it that way before. I've always been taught that holiness is being without sin, and sin is breaking the law, so holiness must be not breaking the law. But Jesus told the Pharisees, who followed the entire law, that prostitutes were holier than they were.
