no phone!

Uh, so I got home a few minutes ago and decided to check if there were any messages on our voice mail... and there's not even a dial tone. On any of our phones. (Yes, I checked to see that everything's plugged in.) Here's hoping that it's just a random thing and not the phone company cutting us off a month early... something tells me this is going to be a pain in the ass.

In the meantime, people can call me on Skype. My username is my real name, last name and everything. Should be easy enough to find me.

I'm wondering if this means we don't have access to 911. That would not be good.

State-side, I believe all phones must have access to 911. Even cell phones without service plans do. I would think our benevolent neighbors to the North would also have similar at the minimum, since we are a cold hearted and war mongering people. :)

About 6 Months alot of the internet based phone programs did not allow you access to 911. some of them brought you to a recording that said your local emergency numbers.

Heather Ann, I'm pretty sure that even if you don't have a dial tone, you still will have access to 911. Someone told me that about our main phone line a while back, but I'm not sure where exactly to get verification of this. I think the only way you wouldn't have access is if the physical cable was severed somehow...
